Almost there!

I can’t wait for Friday (night). Not that I have any amazing plans or anything… I just want to sleep. How lame.

Ok so let’s first talk about yesterday.

Yesterday was a super busy day for me. I had a strong feeling that a 6k awaited me after school, and I was right. I thought that I was prepared for it… but I was nowhere near prepared! It went pretty bad. I was planning on pulling 2 splits above my PR (splits: the time that it takes to complete 500 meters) but I ended up pulling 5.7 splits above my PR. Yikes. After feeling pretty bad about how I did, I realized something. This is my first 6k of this season. I only have room for improvement. With that in mind, I felt (and currently feel) a lot better about my piece. Our next 6k is on Monday so I plan on improving :) (that should not be too difficult!)

After practice I made myself a green protein smoothie. I can usually tell when there is spinach in my smoothies, but this time I couldn’t. I guess chocolate and banana really cover up that taste!

The rest of the night I spent studying for tests.

*******

Now for today. School went pretty well today. I was planning on having a comparative politics test (ew) but my teacher was absent. I am so glad that I have an extra day to study, there are so many confusing terms to know!

After my government class, I headed over to photography. Unfortunately, I lost my usb stick… which has absolutely everything on it (including tomorrow’s project). Yikes. On the bright side, my teacher was absent today (where are my teachers today?!) so I was able to spend the period restarting my project. Fun right?

Practice

Today was supposed to be an easy day but it wasn’t. We began practice with a relay race that consisted of erging, situps, jumping jacks, and lunges. It was tough, but not impossible. After completing the relay, we had a 19 minute (why not 18 or 20?) steady state (going at a semi-relaxed pace) but at a low rating (slower stroke speed, harder to get a good number). I was pooped. Tomorrow was supposed to be 14 x 2:30 minutes but my coach changed our workout due to today’s workload (at least I think). Instead, we will be partnering up with the boys team. I am not sure what exactly we are doing, but I am 99% sure that my brother and I will be partnered together.

Do you do better when working out on your own or with a partner?
