It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on… oh noooo now I am going to be singing this all week (thanks Katie!). Can you all believe that it is already February?! I only have 59 days of school left, say what?!
Last night it snowed like crazy here in Chicago. It took me almost two hours to get home after practice and my brother and I shoveled for another hour. This girl was quite tired yesterday! This morning I was tempted to take a personal snow day, but my brother talked me out of it. What would I do without him? Despite not wanting to go to school today, I actually enjoyed it! I was also on a role with joke telling today, lol (I feel sorry for my friends!)! After school, I headed to practice. I was pretty nervous about today’s workout (Monday’s and Friday’s are our most difficult days), but it was not that bad. We ended up doing 10 x 2:30 mins rather than 14 x 2:30 mins. Yesterday was a tough day at practice (let’s just say I am still sore…) so my coach knew that we would need a lighter Friday practice. Afterwards we completed an ab pyramid. I was pretty pooped from the erg (rowing) workout so I was glad when my coach let the seniors do one pyramid rather than two.
Friday Faves: Stress Be Gone!
While brainstorming ideas for tonight’s Friday Faves, my friend (Mariana) suggested that I write a post on my favorite ways to get rid of stress. What a great idea! February can be a stressful month, so here are some of my favorite ways to eliminate stress.
1. Listen to your favorite music. Whenever I feel stressed, I listen to my favorite music. For me, Phillip Phillips and Katy Perry (of course) always seem to lift my mood.
2. Put on some good smelling lotion. This may sounds really wierd, but who does not love to smell good? I love using Bath and Body Work’s Stress Relief lotion to help relax me.
3. Spray your pillow. Before going to sleep (or while sitting in bed) spray your pillow with a relaxing scent. I love using Bath and Body Work’s pillow mists, they make falling asleep so much more peaceful!
4. Read a magazine. Give yourself a few minutes of relaxation with a good magazine. When I find myself feeling stressed with school work, I take a few minutes off and read a magazine. This helps to give my mind a break and it helps me to relax. Just make sure that a “few minutes” is not an hour!
5. Put on your craziest and/or coziest pajamas. I always feel so much cozier when I put on my pajamas. Putting on my crazy pajama pants helps to lift my mood and bring a smile to my face.
How do you relieve stress?

I related to all of these! My favorite ways to destress are to listen to music, make myself a cup of mocha, put on some Nikes and a long sleeve t-shirt, throw my hair in a bun, read through old journals (and LAUGH), Pinterest, and talk with my mom or sister. Quite a lot!

I love doing all of those too! Old journals are so much fun to read
I go for runs when I’m stressed but a nice bubble bath or a magazine tend to do the trick too

I have that lotion and spray! Also, Orgins makes a really good stress-relief lotion as well. You rub a little bit on your temples and it starts tingling. There is nothing like it and it is awesome. Meditations (PMR) and workouts always work well for me. Great post, girl!

Woohoo, only 59 days of school left! You must be so excited!
I really like your stress relievers. I love putting on some sweet smelling lotion and my comfiest PJ pants. Reading, baking, and taking walks are also ways I like to destress.
Have a great weekend! Hopefully you don’t get anymore snow!

yay for 59 days left ! I use a lavender scent thats amazing I spray my bed with, love it. My fav way to relieve stress though is going for a nice run. If you asked me last year I would never say running but I have come a long way and can’t wait til its nice out again so I can go for them !

I love these, I also make some tea, read a book, sit with my cats, take a hot shower/bath, and just breath. I also try to refocus my thoughts when I get too overwhelmed! Going for a walk helps too!
