Happy Friday everyone! My Friday was rather laid back, but that is totally fine with me! I am going to miss relaxing everyday when school starts on Monday… back to reality.
Breakfast
This morning I was in a smoothie mood, so I made myself a chocolate oatmeal protein smoothie. The smoothie consisted of: oatmeal, greek yogurt, ground flax seed, chocolate vitamix, and milk. I really wanted to add some frozen bananas to it… but we were still out of bananas. Regardless, the smoothie still tasted great!
Lunch
On our way to drop off my sister, we (my mom, sister, and I) stopped at Starbuck’s drive through. My mom and I ordered the protein bistro box and my sister got some kind of sandwich.
And of course we just had to order green tea lattes! Just in case you were all dying to know (probably not) I like to have my green tea lattes with: no syrup (Starbucks puts syrup in almost everything), non-fat milk (I always say skim and then they always correct me…), and light ice. Most of the time they understand what I am saying… but sometimes they (the newbies) are confused. What can I say? I love making complicated orders (haha that just reminded me of Bon Qui Qui )
After dropping Ash off, we headed over to our local Vitamin Shoppe. I have been wanting to buy whey protein powder for a very long time now. Last night I attempted to buy it at the mall but the shop’s doors were locked. I mean come on! There was still 1 more minute left before the store was supposed to close. Ok so maybe I should have gone earlier… Anyway, I finally had a chance to buy whey protein powder
I was stuck between two different brands, so I bought one and my mom bought the other.
Workout
It was already getting dark outside (thank you winter!) so I decided upon a quick run. I laced up my running shoes and headed out with Kaylie. I ended up running 3.4 miles which is more than I originally planned on running. I also remembered to wear a hat this time!
I also happened to use an app on my phone called Charity Miles. Charity Miles is an app that measures the distance of your run (it also tracks your walks and biking) and then donates money to a charity of your choice based on the distance completed. Neat, right? So after my run, I had the satisfaction of improving my health and helping wounded veterans!
Dinner
After my run, I was excited to try one of my new protein powders… so I did
I made a smoothie with: whey protein powder (vanilla bean), bananas, blueberries, skim milk, and ice. I made a little too much, so I shared with my mom.
So far, I am liking this protein powder! I will be doing a review on the two powders tomorrow
And now for the fun stuff!
Friday Faves: Blog Edition!
I have thought about writing a Friday Faves post for a while now. One of my favorite blogs, Change of Pace, wrote her Friday Favorites on blogs. After reading her post, which I absolutely loved, I decided to begin writing Friday Faves. I decided to separate my favorite blogs into separate categories. So here we go!
Prettiest Blogs (photographs and layout):
- The Undressed Skeleton- I love how colorful her website is! I also love seeing pictures of her dog-Mr. Grumples.
- Peanut Butter Fingers- I love her workouts and recipes. Her blog is also very fun to read! And like Taralynn (Undressed Skeleton), she has a cute dog named Sadie. Can you tell that I love dogs?
- The Skinny Confidential- One of the things that I love about this blog is the pretty pictures on it! All of her pictures are very colorful and fun. I also like her blogging voice. She is always so fun and carefree!
- Sweet Tooth Sweet Life- I enjoy reading her recipes and looking at all of her food pictures. She also posts good workouts on her blog.
So these are all for this weeks Friday Faves Blog Edition. If you liked reading my Friday Faves Blog Edition, stay tuned for more!

Do you have any complicated orders?
What are some of your favorite blogs?

that smoothie looks good!
and what a cute dog
Thanks Sharon!
Both Sweet Tooth Sweet Life and PBFingers were some of the first blogs I ever followed. Meeting both of those girls at events/conferences this year has been so surreal but also amazing because they are JUST as sweet as they come across on their blogs!
I always modify orders at restaurants. I feel you on Starbucks, their drinks need lots of modifications to decrease fat/sugar content. Now I just drink black coffee so that’s easy, but at restaurants I am always asking for cheese/sauce/dressing on the side and asking for veggie or potato sides instead of other heavier options. It’s just what I prefer! And I do like to have some cheese/sauce on the side so I can add a little to my dish – just not the large amount restaurants usually add.
You sure love smoothies! I can’t say I’ve ever gotten into the smoothie thing myself. I never feel satisfied, I love to CRUNCH!
I hope you are having a great weekend and I love the pic of you and your pup!

I am the same way at restaurants! I always order salads with the dressing on the side. And yes, I loooove smoothies
That smoothie sound soo good! I love those kind of tumblers for smoothies. I have a Starbucks one that I use for everything.
I too love PBfingers and STSL. They’re the first blogs I ever followed!

Aren’t tumblers so much fun?!
I’m craving a protein smoothie now…too bad that I don’t have any of ingredients. Guess I need to head over to Trader Joe’s. I follow a TON of blogs but my favorites are Eat Yourself Skinny, Peanut Butter Runner, Sarah Fit, Life Is Bananas, and many more.
xo, jin
Eat Yourself Skinny is another good one! I have not seen Life Is Bananas yet, I will have to check it out!
Oh there are so many blogs I love! I like those you mentioned, and I also like roostblog–she has a bunch of beauuuuuuuuutiful rustic pictures and cool GF recipes due to her husband’s Crohn’s disease. And just today my husband said to me, “wow that’s a complex order” when I ordered the earl grey tea latte with soy and 1 pump of vanilla, hah! I think soy is sooo good in drinks, including coffee.

I will have to check out Roostblog! Soy tastes amazing! I often put in my smoothies and sometimes in my lattes!
Ohhhh I’m a reader of all of your Favorites! Totally agree on all of them! I haven’t heard of a Green Tea Latte before….is it sweet? I like green tea, but it takes A LOT of truvia or agave nectar to get it sweet enough for me.
