Today seriously felt like a Thursday. I hope that tomorrow does not feel like a Friday! It seems like every week my Thursdays feel like Fridays…
Anyway! This morning was a late start at my school, which meant that school began at 9am rather than 7:45. I wish that everyday was a late start…
Breakfast this morning was a “nasty smoothie” (what my sister calls them) also known as a green smoothie (spinach). I decided to put a twist on Dashing Dish’s banana split smoothie that I made a week ago. This time I used:
- one handful of spinach
- 1/2 cup of pineapple
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 handful (approx 1/4 cup) of frozen strawberries
- 1 scoop of chocolate Vitamix
I know that it probably looks gross… but I loved it
Practice today was not too bad. We began our practice with “Gia’s Workout”, which is a intense leg workout. We spent 15 minutes (without rests) doing squats and lunges while carrying 25lb weights. My arms and legs were aching after 5 minutes, but I don’t think I will be sore this time! After that, we did some other crossfit activities (like burpees) and then headed off to erg. We only had to do 35 minutes on the ergs today, but my body was already tired from our crossfit. Fortunately, I was able to hit my numbers… but those 35 minutes seemed to last forever.
After practice, I was in a smoothie mood (as usual) so I made myself a green tea protein smoothie. I usually make these during the summer with froyo… but this time I used vanilla Chobani instead. It was good, but not as good as the other ones I make. I also added a banana to this one, which I usually do not do. Here is what was in my smoothie:
- 1 tsp matcha powder
- 1 banana
- 1 cup (frozen) greek yogurt (vanilla Chobani)
- 1 scoop whey powder
Well, I have to catch some zzs.
