While flipping through a cake pop book in Barnes and Noble, I read about how to make cake balls! After looking at so many yummy looking cake balls, I decided to make some for Christmas! It was actually really easy to make. So here is the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • Cake mix (and whatever ingredients the box requires)
  • Chocolate chips (white and/or milk chocolate… or even dark chocolate)
  • 1 can of frosting

Directions:

Step by Step

  1. Prepare cake batter from box
  2. Mix
  3. Pour into a greased pan and bake
  4. Cut cake into large pieces
  5. Crumble pieces and add desired frosting (more frosting= moister cake balls)
  6. Take some of the crumbs and form them into a ball
  7. Place in a container and refrigerate (for approximately 5-10 mins)
  8. (9th picture) Melt chocolate chips in the microwave (approximately 1.5 minuits). Then drop the ball into the bowl of chocolate and scoop out with a spoon
  9. (8th picture) Drop ball onto wax paper
  10. Put the cake balls into the refrigerate to harden chocolate
