Last night as I was doing my homework, my mom told me that there would be a lot of snow today. I laughed at her and said that there would probably be 2 inches at most. Boy was I wrong. What can I say, mothers do know best.
I was also sure to take pictures… while at school *gasp*.
For those of you who are curious as to how I did on yesterday’s 6k, I did pretty awesome
I set yet another PR!
Healthy Talk
Ok so many of my friends have been doing a health related survey sooooo I decided to join in. Fun right?
Here we go:
1. What did you eat for breakfast?
I kept it simple this morning and had some cereal.
2. How much water do you drink a day?
I drink around 60 oz of water. I should probably work on drinking more though…
3. What is your current favorite workout?
Well, I do not consider erging fun… so maybe crossfit?
4. How many calories did you eat today?
Hmmmm… well I do not count calories. I am guessing that I eat around 2000-2500 calories a day (which is a lot). I just make sure to eat whole and nutritious foods, rather than calorie counting. During rowing season, I eat more due to the intense workouts. During the summer, I probably eat around 1500 calories a day.
5. What are your favorite healthy snacks?
Good Greens bars. I am in love with those bars! I also like eating chobani (greek yogurt)
6. What do you usually eat for lunch?
I always have a turkey sandwich, a Good Greens bar, and some of Annie’s bunny cookies. I am pretty boring with my lunches.
7. What is your favorite body part to train?
My legs. I have always had strong legs which makes leg focused workouts (such as squats or lunges) easy for me. My arms are a different story…
8. What is your least favorite body part to train?
Well, I guess I kind of already answered this in #7!
9. What are your bad food cravings?
Anything with a lot of sugar. Oreos are my biggest weakness. Oh and cookie dough…
10. Do you take vitamins or supplements?
I used to… but I ran out and I have been too lazy to get more…
11. How often do you eat out?
This is a hard question… it really depends. Sometimes my family only goes out once a week… and sometimes we go out three times a week. When we do go out, it is usually at Panera Bread or Jason’s Deli. Nothing cray cray like McDonald’s or BK.
12. Do you eat fast food?
I used to eat fast food, but now I find most of it disgusting. When I have to eat at Micky D’s or BK I usually get a salad or a yogurt parfait. Sometimes, if I’m feeling real cray cray, I might eat a breakfast sandwich from Mickey D’s. So to answer the question, not really.
13. Who is your biggest supporter?
I think that I am my biggest supporter… strange. I usually am the one to keep my family on track (Ev loves me for that… hahahaha not really…). My mom does help talk me out of some foods though… especially ice cream
14. Do you have a gym membership?
Does the boathouse count?
15. How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
During school nights I get around 7 hours of sleep. Lately, I have been getting 9 hours (hence the very few blog posts last week) of sleep. During the weekend I usually get around 9 hours of sleep each night. I know that I should be getting 10 hours (for being a teenager)… but who has enough time for that?!
16. Do you have a “cheat” day?
No. I just treat myself whenever I feel that its necessary (for example: birthdays or hanging out with friends).
17. Do you drink alcohol?
Hahaha! No. My friends and family know that I am very against drinking alcohol. I don’t mind if other people drink it, but there is no way that I am! First of all, I am not old enough to drink. Second of all, why would I want to lose control of myself? I am crazy enough without alcohol… so why do I need it? Lastly, there is a ton of fat and toxins in alcohol. No thanks.
18. Do you have a workout buddy?
My doggies
and sometimes my brother
19. What is the best thing that has changed about your life since committing to a healthy lifestyle?
Confidence. I love how much energy and strength I have now. I have also improved a lot in rowing, which makes me veeeery happy
I guess I am just a happier person!
20. What is the last healthy thing you did?
Hmmm… drinking green tea?
Now I want to hear from you! Let me know what your answers are for some of these questions!
How is the weather by you?
Is there anything that you want to improve on to become healthier?

Congrats on the PR!
The weather in Baltimore is a little crazy–it has been raining/sleeting/balls of ice hitting your face a lot lately! I am ready for spring!

Thanks Colleen! That weather sounds like no fun! I can’t wait for spring
Ooo yay I was one of the friends! Haha, I loved the part about your doggies
I wish Bentley could be my workout buddy, but seeing as his legs are about 5 inches long, getting intense is a bit of a challenge! Love your answers

Awww Bentley must look adorable while running!
I’m glad I’m not the only one against drinking alcohol
My friends are trying to convince me to try it for my 21st birthday but I’m not even sure that’s going to happen. Also, 2000 calories is not a lot for an athlete AT ALL. Females are actually supposed to be eating upwards of 3000 for our activity level. Just something to think about!

I am happy that I am not alone! As for calories, I totally agree! I don’t count calories so I am not exactly sure how many I eat. One of my coaches recommended that I eat around 2000-2500 for my weight and activity level. I feel like I have been eating enough so I am not going to worry about actually counting calories (that’s too much work!)
Oh my goodness that is alot of snow!!! And yes, your cup is basically the exact same as mine except it says san fran, even the buildings looks similar! Thanks so much for the fun read! P.S. I love so much that I have connected with you, Avery, and Miranda. So cool!!!
Aww I am happy that you enjoyed this post
I am so happy that we all found each other!
Aw I’m a friend! Blushing! Us 4 = the fab 4 of teen bloggers
Love this post! Have you tried crossfit?! It looks like so much fun!

Awww
I love our little group! As for crossfit, my team does crossfit workouts at least 3 times a week. I would choose crossfit over erging anyday!
I used to do cross fit but came close to pulling my hamstrings so I quit and now do weight lifting and cardio barre for fun! A huge change
. The snow looks so beautiful! I wanted to go up to the mountains this winter but we went to Asia instead so not complaining. There is always next year
. Enjoy the winter white! Love + Shine Courtstar

Cardio barre? That sounds awesome! And going to Asia sounds awesome!
I love this survey! I don’t think 2000-2500 calories is a lot, girl! Especially if you’re active. For the longest time anywhere above 1500 made me cringe, but after speaking with a dietician, she cleared my thoughts up a bit. Looks like you’re livin’ a healthy, happy lifestyle! I also think it’s so cool that you row. I don’t know anyone that does that!

Thanks girl! Rowing is a cool, but tiring, sport
It is so rewarding though!
look at all that snow! Cookie dough is totally one of my weaknesses/cravings too

It’s kind of crazy how you have to go to school with all that snow! Where I grew up in the south, school would be cancelled if they HEARD it was going to snow. I’m serious!
