Tropic Thunder

Hey guys! I hope that you all are having a nice weekend! Yesterday was pretty busy for me. Here is a recap of my Saturday:

Before heading off to practice, I made myself some scrambled eggs with cheese and chicken sausage. Nothing special, but it was super filling :)

Practice

Friday’s practice was 12 x 2:30 mins on the erg (rowing machine) which was very tiring for me considering that my legs still hurt from Wednesday’s practice. With that said, I was expecting Saturday’s practice to be easy. I was waaaaay off. Here is what we did:

  • 8 minute warmup on the ergs
  • 3 x 1 minutes (1 min @ 2k+4, 1 min @ 2k+ 2, and 1 min @ 2k)
  • 10 minutes (4 mins @ 2k)
  • 7km relay race w/teams of 4 using 3 ergs (each erg had 7km so I guess we had a total of 21km)

Looks fun right?

After practice I was craving for something sweet, soooo I made myself a strawberry-banana protein smoothie (typical Brittany).

IMG_3278It consisted of: a handful of frozen strawberries, 4 fresh strawberries, 1 frozen banana, 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder, and soy milk. Easy.

Later, we did some grocery shopping. As you all probably know, grocery shopping is one of my favorite things to do. I mean who doesn’t like picking out delicious foods?!

After putting everything away, we drove up to Wisconsin for some laser tagging fun.

When we walked into the building, I saw intense signs and intense looking people. “What kind of laser tagging is this?” I thought to myself. It turns out that we were at a tactical laser tag building.

After handing me my gun, I became very excited (oooh no..). They looked legit. I am used to using dinky guns that glow… but these were intense. I then thought of Tropic Thunder…

I just had to put this pic up :)

Intense right?

After laser tagging, we had dinner at a Brazilian steakhouse. I was one happy camper :)

Today

This morning I decided to make everyone breakfast. I ended up making whole wheat pancakes.

They were delicious :) My brother even ate them (he will not touch healthy food). They were super easy to make too! All you need is:

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 cup almond butter (or peanut butter)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp honey (I used agave)
  • A dash of cinnamon

I also added some chocolate chips to a few of the pancakes ;)

What did you do this weekend?

Have you ever gone tactical laser tagging?
